On February 28, the Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award Conference was held in Hunan Hotel, Changsha, Hunan Province. Two hundred and twenty-seven projects were awarded with Hunan Provincial Natural Science Award, Hunan Provincial Technological Invention Award and Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award respectively and fifty-one patents were awarded Hunan Patent Award. Mr. Xu Shousheng, Provincial secretary and Chairman of Hunan Provincial People's Congress, Mr. Du Jiahao, Governor of Hunan Province, attended the meeting and presented the awards to the winners.

Two projects from CSUST, “Key Technologies and Engineering Applications in Highway Roadbed Construction in Lake Area” presided by Professor Zheng Jianlong and “Research and Demonstration of Key Technologies for Deep Processing of Freshwater Fish” presided by Professor Liu Yongle won the first prize of Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
