CSUST Pilot Class of Journalism Talents Goes International

On May 23rd, staff from Teaching Affairs Office, International Affairs Office and School of Liberal Arts and Law met with Professor Peter, University Provost, and Professor Zheng Guanping, Manager of East Asia Projects, from Middle Tennessee State University. Both sides conducted an in-depth discussion on the cooperation of the internationalization of the Pilot Class of Journalism Talents, such as faculty exchange, cooperation on scientific research and cultivation of students’ capacity, and reached a consensus.

Professor Peter agreed that each year Middle Tennessee State University would designate one to two Journalism and Communications teachers to teach at CSUST and in turn CSUST could send one to two teachers as visiting scholars. Students majoring in Journalism in CSUST will be awarded a minimum of USD 4000 when accepted by MTSU. The higher the GPA is, the more the scholarship, with the highest up to 12, 000 dollars. After enrolled in MTSU, each will be assigned a tutor and choose their own major and study with the US students.

It presents the most comprehensive postgraduate education and has the largest number of undergraduates within Tennessee. It now conducts project cooperation with Communication University of China and Hunan Normal University in such fields as Mass Communications, Education, Nursery, Aerospace, Music Business and Music Industry.
