School of Electrical and Information Engineering

School of Electrical and Information Engineering, founded in 2003, has a talent training system from undergraduate to postdoctoral research station after years of development. Over 60 years, the school has trained more than 20000 graduates from all levels for the country based on the basic task of "establishing morality and cultivating people". The school has six undergraduate programs, namely Electrical Engineering and Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Automation, Rail Transit Signal and Control, Smart Grid Information Engineering and Robotics Engineering. Up to now, it has the primary-discipline doctoral programs in electrical engineering, postdoctoral research station and sub-discipline doctoral program in transportation information engineering and control; primary-discipline master’s program in control science and engineering; two master's programs in traffic information engineering and control, circuit and system; three professional master's programs in the fields of energy and power, electronic information, and machinery.

Currently, the school has 130 faculty members, including 26 professors, 52 associate professors, 65 with doctors (post) degrees, and 45 returnees. In the past five years, it has presided over and undertaken more than 400 scientific research projects, including National Science Fund Program for Distinguished Young Scholars, National Key R & D Program, National Natural Science Fund Key Program and general programs of National Natural Science Fund, with an annual scientific research fund of more than 50 million yuan. The teachers of the college have won more than 60 scientific research achievement awards at the provincial and ministerial level and above, including 2 first prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 second prize of Natural Science Award, 2 second prizes of National Technology Invention Award, 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, etc. It has more than 120 invention patents, published more than 1,000 scientific research papers, more than 800 articles have been included in the three major international searches of SCI, EI and ISTP. The college has 5 national discipline research platforms, 3 key laboratories of Hunan Province, and 5 national teaching platforms.
